It's cloudy and a little cool this morning. I got up with Joey a little before 7 and took him out and fed him. The amount of pee was less than it has been but it probably has to do with his eating less and gaining more control. He ate his food in small amounts over time. He's resting calming under my desk after a burst of excited energy earlier.

I figured out how to remove the ugly search icon by editing the template.css file. The remaining puzzle is to change the blue button color that shows up in the author's area. As of now, things are looking and working good. I really like this template - it's very clean and crisp.

It's after nine and Richard's still sleeping - I'm sure he's tired and stiff after working in the yard and heat yesterday. Today I think he plans to get another big pot from Sam's and another evergreen and some more ivy from Lowes. We also need some food!

I did the laundry this morning - Richard's clothes are so dirty that there's not much I can do to get them really clean.

Tonight is the final Mad Men episode.

Hopefully I won't inadvertently click on the little "x" and close this post - I've done that twice recently (I have too many tabs open in Chrome!.)

Last week I spent a lot of time learning more about Joomla and templates. I've come a long way on CSS and HTML - Firebug in Firefox is wonderful! I bought the Joomlashine developer pack where I get all of their templates and I've learned a lot by studying many them. I'm using JSN Solid for this website now and really like the way it's working. I had to add the code to get Multicats to display the categories but I now understand how to do it. It's amazing how comfortable I've become using Joomla - it's an amazing program!

Richard has added two trellises to the deck and changed the entrance location and it looks really good. He found some large containers at Sam's and got some evergreens to put in them so we don't have to see the Parkway anymore - it's really nice. He also planted some ivy and another boxwood in the area in front of the top deck. The backyard is really nice now and it's a pleasure to sit out there - it's beginning to be very private.

Joey is growing and growing and is such a joy! His house-training is going slowly - it depends on me catching him at the right time. Early this morning he figured out how to move the gate and ran upstairs - he scared Richard to death when he couldn't find him!

We went to Will's James River Singers concert last night at River Road Church - he is so good!

Will and I went to the Good Feet store yesterday - unfortunately they aren't working for me - they make my feet hurt so I'm going to return them next week.

It's almost dinner time - we're going to have Polish sausage and spinach. Richard has been working outside all day so I'm sure he's exhausted.

Today has not been fun - my head is full and it feels and sounds like it's going to explode. There was a big thunderstorm last night but it did nothing to make things better. Even Joey sneezes after being outside.

I have been working more on CSS editing and installed multi-categories on my site instead of using tags. For some reason, the template gets all messed up on the front blog section when I select certain display Options - but I'll worry about that when my head feels better. I also can't figure out how to change the color of the "submit" button...

Joey and I went for two walks today - I made progress when I took some cheese and encouraged him with it. He learned "shake" today and we're now working on "beg". He's also pretty good at "Stay". It's amazing how fast he learns. Now if he just liked going for a walk... He did make it until 6am this morning so he's able to hold it longer now (not that he still doesn't make mistakes!}

Wow - today I finally figured out how to use Firebug to edit CSS! What a breakthrough. I was able to change the colors of buttons and text - I still have a long way to go to to learn out to make changes on specific pages, but I now understand what I'm doing! I watched a helpful YouTube video that made things clear.

Joey had gained another 2 ounces at his checkup yesterday. Since he won't take the oral heartworm medication, I had to order a topical one from 1800PETMEDS. He's really growing and developing quickly now. I took him for two walks today since he has been reluctant (obstanant) to walk with me over the last few days. I carried him to the end of the sidewalk, put him down and started walking and it got better. I think he gets distracted or worried on the sidewalk. He was able to make it over four hours last night, so we're making progress. He definitely doesn't have pooping outside concept yet, but we're getting better about potty. Yesterday the fire haudrant came so it's ready when he starts lifting his leg.

Will sent me a great link about how to be happy - I'm listening to it now. It's so true - gratitude really makes things better!
